Lyons, Wisconsin (United States of America) - "Memorial Day Run". This event is a perfect way to celebrate, remember, and honor all those that have served our Country. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. This event will be taking place on the White River Trail State Trail with the start and finish in downtown Lyons, WI. The White River Trail is a rails-to-trails crushed limestone path on the former SOO railway. This trail is canopied by trees and provides the perfect place to reflect on the selfless service the military provides. This is a dog-friendly event, so feel free to bring your four-legged running partner with you! This event is FREE for our Veterans, Active Duty, Reserves, Law Enforcement, and their spouses. Please email us for your free sign-up promo code and attach a picture of your military or work id. Entry fee for all others is $24.00 with online sign up and $34.00 the day of the event. Swag will be available for purchase. Online sign-up will conclude at 10am on the Friday before the event. Once you are done with your run, continue the festivities by supporting one of the local Lyons' businesses for a bite or a pint that are steps away from the start/finish area. Swag will be available for purchase. When signing up, please consider purchasing a flag that will line the start/finish area to honor or in memory of a military hero in your life. We would love to line the trail with flags. There also will be an option to donate to the Kenosha Running Company's Red, White and Blue Program. This program provides free or discounted race entries to active duty or retired military personnel, police, sheriff and their spouses to run or walk several of our events throughout the year. This unique program helps to provide a way for them to remain physically active while also fostering a sense of community. Vista, California (United States of America) - "Vista Strawberry Run". Run or walk this scenic, mostly flat 5K course or the just-for-fun Kids 1-Mile or 1/4-Mile and then stay to enjoy the Vista Strawberry Festival in the heart of downtown Vista, one of the largest single-day street fairs in North County! Enjoy yummy treats, unique finds, live entertainment, crafts, a beer garden and much more! The Vista Strawberry Run will also feature a strawberry-themed costume contest! Dress up with a Strawberry theme and join us after the run at the main stage for our Runners' Costume Contest. Fun prizes will be awarded for the berry best-dressed runners! The BOLDERBoulder was founded in 1979 as a small, local 10K, and since has grown to be one of the largest and most respected community running events in the world. Basalt, Colorado (United States of America) - "Basalt Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay". The 47th Annual Basalt Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay will return again this year on Saturday June 1st 2024. This course is one of the fastest in Colorado with a consistent gradual drop of 1000' as it parallels the beautiful Frying Pan River. The 2 person Relay is a 6.1 mile and 7 mile legs Half Marathoners and first leg relay runners will be bused to the start. Second leg relay will be bused to exchange zone and first leg runners will then be bused to finish line. This event serves as a fundraiser for the local High School Cross Country Program.
